Calling Nonprofits-Time to Apply for the Hovis Grant!

February 01, 2024

If your nonprofit offers a high-quality summer camp and you are located within Erie County, this is the grant opportunity for you!

You can apply for a grant of up to $5,000 from the William & Ethel Hovis Fund, which is housed at The Erie Community Foundation. The goal of the grant is to promote outdoor activities, camp attendance, athletics and other programs that foster good health and well-being for underserved youth in our area.

When the Hovis Fund was established, the donor felt that summer camps offer children a structured program in which to grow while providing a special type of community and safe environment where kids come together to have fun, develop a sense of independence, gain self-confidence, develop a variety of social skills such as communication and conflict resolution, and participate in new adventures away from home.

You can use the grant dollars to promote and support camp scholarships and operations. The grant application is open from February 1st through February 29th.

Eligible Organizations: Any Erie County 501(c)3 organization.

Deadline: No later than February 29, 2024. (You will be notified of funding decisions in March 2024.)
