Funding Opportunity for Senior-Serving Nonprofits

The William and Ethel Hovis Fund, established in 2018, designates the promotion of outdoor activities, camp attendance, athletics and other programs that foster good health and well-being for underserved youth and elderly in our area. To assist nonprofits serving our most vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 crisis, The William & Ethel Hovis Fund is offering mini-grants of up to $1,000 to organizations and programs that directly serve the elderly population in Erie County.

  • Organizations requesting funds must be a 501c3, serving residents in Erie County.
  • Award amount is maximized at $1,000.
  • No grant match is required.
  • Funds may be used primarily, costs related to directly to virus response, (i.e. PPE and testing) and service delivery, but also for general operating support (salaries/overhead).
  • Applications will be reviewed upon submittal with decisions made weekly.
  • Grant awards will be mailed after notification and receipt of grant agreement.
  • Grant use/expenditure reports will be required eventually although due dates will not be near term during this time of community hardship.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted online. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through December 31, 2020 or until the funds have been exhausted.
