Erie Gives Raises $4,471,123 for 381 nonprofits!

Erie Gives announced today that 7,945 donors gave over $4.47 million to support the work of 381 different nonprofit organizations. 

The total amount raised for participating nonprofits, including a $300,000 prorated match provided by The Erie Community Foundation, GE Transportation, Erie Insurance, Presque Isle Downs & Casino, E.E. Austin Companies, ERIEBANK, Knox Law, Little Caesars/Dickey’s BBQ, McInnes Rolled Rings and Northwest was $4,471,123. Our sponsor Erie Times-News graciously provided in-kind services to Erie Gives. The Erie Community Foundation presented checks to nonprofits today during a 9:00 a.m. press conference at the Erie Zoo.

Summary of Erie Gives 2018:

  • 381 nonprofits received $4,471,123 (note: this number may rise as matching company gifts are applied).
  • 19,403 donations were made by 7,945 donors.
  • 213 (or 56%) nonprofits received at least one gift of $1,000 or more.
  • 55 nonprofits received $5,000 or more.
  • 95 nonprofits received $10,000 or more.
  • The largest gift was $114,676 made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
  • The average gross gift was $220.
  • The prorated match amount was 7.02%; credit card fees were 3.0%, providing a net match of 4.02%.
