Erie Gives, a 12-hour online giving campaign taking place on Tuesday, August 8, announces the largest prorated match ever of $315,000, an increase of 20% over last year!
Erie Gives Gold sponsors: The Erie Community Foundation has donated $130,000 and GE Transportation has donated $50,000.
Erie Gives Silver sponsors: Erie Insurance, Presque Isle Downs & Casino and Northwest Bank have donated $35,000, $25,000 and $20,000, respectively.
Erie Gives Bronze sponsors: McInnes Rolled Rings has donated $15,000; E.E. Austin & Son, ERIEBANK, Frontier General Contracting and Little Caesars have each donated $10,000.
Also, regional affiliate community foundations will provide their own additional prorated match for nonprofits serving their communities. The North East Community Foundation will provide an extra $25,000, Corry Community Foundation $10,000, and The Union City Community Foundation $7,500. Nonprofits located in these communities will receive TWO prorated matches.
Erie Gives began in 2011 in honor of The Erie Community Foundation’s 75th anniversary. “Thanks to the generosity of the Erie community, the total amount raised has increased by at least $500,000 each year,” said Mike Batchelor, President of The Erie Community Foundation. “During our very first Erie Gives, donors gave over $770,000 to 212 nonprofits. Last year, that amount was quadrupled, raising over $3.4 million for 354 nonprofits. It is really amazing what 12 hours of giving power can do for our community.”
