Erie Community Foundation seeks Vice President of Community Impact

The Erie Community Foundation is seeking a seasoned professional to help us improve the quality of life in our region.  The Vice President of Community Impact provides leadership and direction for the Transformational, Helping Today and other grantmaking programs within The Erie Community Foundation. The successful candidate will build on an established program to insure maximum impact of philanthropic investments through the implementation of “best in class” evaluation, reporting and program monitoring strategies.   

With nearly 800 different charitable endowments and nearly $250 million in assets, The Erie Community Foundation is a well-established, rapidly growing and a recognized regional leader.  Nearly all assets are permanently endowed, and unrestricted endowments comprise 35% of total assets making the Foundation the largest grantmaker in NW Pennsylvania.

The Vice President of Community Impact supervises a two person program team and works collaboratively with the president, senior management, trustees and other community partners. Priorities for the position include developing, managing and evaluating board-approved RFP and Letter of Inquiry processes. Prepare quarterly trustee-level educational briefings, community seminars, special reports and other projects as needed. Provide general assistance and oversight for the Nonprofit Partnership and continued development of our key indicator project, Erie Vital Signs. Supervise Community Impact staff and consultants. Provide general support and assistance to ECF President.

The ideal candidate would have a Masters degree in planning, public administration, public policy or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience.  She/he should also have a solid track record of collaborative work in a fast-changing and dynamic organization. The ability to think strategically while keeping a focus on details is a must. Excellent written, verbal presentation and social media skills are also required. Experience with government relations, public policy and grant funded projects are also desired.
