Workforce Partnership Initiative

On January 8, 2007, The Erie Community Foundation in partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry and the National Foundation Workforce Partnership Project published a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the: Pennsylvania Industry Partnership Career Advancement Initiative for Low Income Workers. Through Commonwealth and Foundation funds, up to $150,000 is available to design and deliver services in Erie, Pennsylvania to enable low-income individuals to get and keep family sustaining jobs. Proposals have been submitted and the selection process is currently underway.

Successful proposals may include designing a pilot project for an existing Industry Partnership with employer members in Erie, or a building a new Industry Partnership. Existing Industry Partnerships with employer members in Erie currently represent manufacturing (metalworking and plastics), construction, and health care.
