The Erie Community Foundation launched this strategic portion of our competitive grantmaking program in 2006. Shaping tomorrow grantmaking concentrates on the big picture and addresses systemic community problems. Grants are distributed through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process or by invitation. The Erie Community Foundation partners with other local, state and national funding sources on many of these projects. Grants are typically multi-year in nature, with established outcomes demonstrating a clear return on investment for donors and the community at large.
Shaping tomorrow is an exciting venture. The Erie Community Foundation is taking a proactive leadership role to tackle long-term problems such as poverty, health care disparities and affordable housing and education for all. The answers are within long-term solutions, which Shaping tomorrow grant making hopes to achieve.
