The Shaping tomorrow grant program promotes continuous improvement in the quality of life in Erie County by investing in multi-year projects that offer a high probability of transformational and sustainable community change. Shaping tomorrow grants address critical needs through collaborative endeavors with measurable outcomes. Based on data from Erie Vital Signs, Foundation trustees have identified the areas of Health, Education and the Economy as priorities for funding. Thanks to the generosity of the Susan Hirt Hagen Fund, up to $4 Million will be available for Shaping tomorrow grants this year.
In 2016, there will be one Shaping tomorrow grant cycle which will follow a two-step, on-line process. (1) After meeting with ECF staff, applicants will summarize their project in a Letter of Interest (LOI) by March 1, 2016. (2) Upon review of all LOIs, a limited number of organizations will be invited to submit full proposals by August 15, 2016. Grant decisions will be announced in the Fall.
Please Note: The online grant application form must be completed by 5 p.m. on the deadline date. For questions or guidance, please contact our Community Impact team at 814-454-0843. All applications are reviewed by Foundation staff and a volunteer grants review panel, and are ultimately approved by The Erie Community Foundation Board of Trustees.
